Common problems I fix

Does any of this sound like your Squarespace site?

!

Template lock-in. You outgrew your template and don't know how to switch without losing everything.

!

Weak SEO. Squarespace's defaults aren't terrible, but nobody's ever tuned yours properly.

!

Site feels dated. Built 3 years ago, looks like it.

!

Everything looks generic. Default sections, default fonts, default layouts — zero personality.

!

Can't get the design you want. The visual editor won't let you do what your brand actually needs.

!

Slow to convert. Beautiful site, no leads — something's off with the structure or copy.

Platform fit

When Squarespace is the right choice.

✓ Squarespace is great if…

  • You want a beautiful site without hosting or plugin headaches.
  • You want to update content yourself, easily.
  • You have a small catalog or service-led business.
  • You value design consistency over maximum flexibility.
  • You want built-in SSL, CDN, and a baseline of SEO done for you.

× Squarespace may be wrong if…

  • You need unusual checkout logic, subscriptions, or advanced catalog features.
  • You have 500+ products and complex variations.
  • You want full control of the codebase or server.
  • You run a content-heavy SEO play — WordPress scales content better.
  • Your design demands fall consistently outside template patterns.
FAQ

Questions before we work together.

7.0 or 7.1 — which should I use?
Almost always 7.1 for new builds. It's actively developed, more flexible, and has a cleaner editor. I only recommend staying on 7.0 if you already have a complex 7.0 site you don't want to rebuild.
Can you do custom designs on Squarespace?
Yes — with custom CSS and careful code injection. There are limits (some parts of the editor are walled off), but you'd be surprised how far thoughtful custom code takes it. I'll tell you honestly whether a design concept is achievable before we start.
Is Squarespace good for SEO?
Good, not great. The foundations are there — clean HTML, SSL, automatic sitemap, responsive design. You still need to tune titles, metadata, internal linking, and publish real content. I do that as part of any build.
Can you migrate from Wix or WordPress?
Yes. I plan the URL map, redirect strategy, and content migration before any go-live, so you don't lose traffic in the transition.
Do you handle the Squarespace plan and domain?
I can guide you on plan selection and set up the domain/DNS, but you keep ownership of everything. Squarespace subscription stays on your account.
What's the investment range?
Squarespace design projects typically $2,000–$5,000. Redesigns, custom code work, or smaller commerce setups can be lower. Fixed-price quote in writing before we start — no surprises.
